As part of our commitment towards providing comprehensive and improved patient care we have now opened a new Diabetes Centre at Kelani Valley Hospital. It is lead by Dr Chamica Wijesinghe Gunawardena MBBS (Sri Lanka), FRACP (Australia) who is a Consultant Diabetologist and Endocrinologist with more than 10 years of experience managing diabetes in Australia. She along with a dedicated team of Consultants, Nurses, Ophthalmologists and Surgeons will provide comprehensive and holistic care to patients with diabetes so that they can achieve and maintain optimal control of their diabetes and continue to live life as normal as possible.

Our Diabetes Centre provides

1. Specialist consultation on diabetes management by our highly specialized Consultants according to latest guidelines and medications
2. Education on Diabetes management including, what is diabetes, Optimal diet, prevention and screening of diabetes related complication, proper foot care by our dedicated team
3. Management of Diabetes related foot ulcers
4. Screening for Diabetic Retinopathy
5. Pregnancy related endocrine disorders including gestational diabetes
6. Blood and urine testing with high accuracy with Hemas Laboratories
7. Education on self-blood glucose monitoring
8. Insulin management

Consultant Diabetologist and Endocrinologist Dr. Chamica Wijesinghe, MBBS (SL), FRACP (AUSTRALIA) specialist will be available for consultation on all SATURDAYS FROM – 8.30AM from 3^rd July 2021 onwards.
