24-Hour Emergency and Outpatient care

As the trusted health care provider serving the local community for four decades, we are proud to be the only hospital in the local community to run a 24/7 and 365 days a year Emergency and Outpatient service.

Our Emergency and OPD is manned by qualified doctors with experience in emergency, general and family medicine. Our nurses are fully trained to respond to all kinds of emergencies and outpatient episodes of care. They are competent in procedures such as canula insertion, IV fluid administration, intra muscular injections and catheterization.

The doctor in attendance will perform a full medical assessment of the patient to diagnose the issue and identify treatment options. Where required, the doctor will determine if the patient needs to be admitted to the inpatient ward for ongoing care, referred to a specialist consultant or transferred to a base hospital.

We follow a four-step approach to emergency care.

  1. TRIAGE – a nurse will take medical history and perform a brief examination to determine the severity of a patient’s condition. Patients with most severe emergencies receive immediate treatment.

  1. REGISTRATION –staff collects your personal information for your patient record and consent for treatment.

  1. TREATMENT – patient receives treatment from an attending doctor. The doctor may order blood tests, which can be reported by our onsite laboratory on an urgent basis. Our nurses are experienced in starting an intravenous (IV) line to administer medication or fluids as ordered by the doctor. We also provide emergency trauma care with suturing and wound management.

  1. REEVALUATION & DISCHARGE – The doctor will reevaluate your condition after they receive your test results and decide whether you should be admitted or treated and discharged with management at home.
